Glamorgan 2026 T20 Blast Cricket Draft Preview

Overview

Glamorgan enjoyed a respectable 2025 season, though they narrowly missed out on a quarter-final berth. They finished just two points shy of the top four, with a mid-season slump of three consecutive defeats ultimately proving costly. Overall, they recorded an even split of seven wins and seven losses.

The bowling attack was led by Ned Leonard and Dan Douthwaite, who claimed 20 wickets apiece. Offensively, the team showed great depth, with four players surpassing the 300-run mark. For 2026, the club has shifted its strategy regarding overseas players; while Imad Wasim and Hayden Kerr featured last year, the new campaign sees a potent seam-bowling pairing in Fazalhaq Farooqi and Nathan MacAndrew. Additionally, the acquisition of Sean Dickson from Somerset looks like a shrewd piece of business following his stellar 2025 form. Glamorgan will undoubtedly be eyeing the knockout stages as the new campaign begins.

Key Picks: Banker, Wildcard, Young Gun & England Watch

Banker: Dan Douthwaite (ALR)

Douthwaite offers immense value due to his high match involvement. Last season, he bowled a team-high 52.5 overs (nearly 12 more than his nearest teammate). A reliable finisher, he bats in the top seven and contributed 226 runs last year at a strike rate of 151.67, including 18 sixes. With 20 wickets to his name as well, he is a premier dual-threat option for any draft.

Wildcard: Ned Leonard (BWL)

Leonard was clinical in 2025, taking 20 wickets in just 10 matches at a remarkable average of 13.90 and an economy of 7.72. While these numbers are hard to ignore, the arrival of Farooqi and MacAndrew creates competition for spots. If he gets the nod as a regular starter, Leonard could be the highest-value pick in the game given his strike-rate capabilities.

Young Gun: Ben Kellaway (ALR)

The 22-year-old is another high-volume player for Glamorgan. His unique ambidextrous finger-spin provides tactical flexibility in the middle overs, where he picked up 10 wickets at an average of 17.10 last summer. Kellaway is equally dangerous with the bat, having scored 262 runs in 2025 at a strike rate north of 150.

England Watch: Asa Tribe (BAT)

Tribe enjoyed a true breakout summer in 2025. The Jersey international seized his opportunity in the county circuit, scoring 312 runs at an average of 34.66 with two half-centuries. Now one of the most discussed young batters in the English game, Tribe has reportedly taken his technical game to another level over the winter. Expect a lot of eyes on him as he looks to transition from "prospect" to "star."
