Overview
The runners-up had an excellent campaign last season, finishing the table in third place before winning their semi-final, though they were eventually undone by Surrey at the final hurdle. They finished on 36 points last summer with eight wins, five defeats, and a tie to their name. The Sparks had a solid unit with the bat as six players passed 200 runs, although two of those players, Laura Harris and Sterre Kalis, have since departed.
The breakthrough of Davina Perrin was remarkable as she racked up 385 runs. Millie Taylor was the star with the ball, collecting 22 wickets, while three other bowlers, Hannah Baker, Georgia Davies, and Issy Wong, also reached double figures. They are currently second-bottom of the One Day Cup, but only four points separate third from bottom in a tightly packed and highly competitive tournament; the T20 season will likely be similar. They have a good crop of young players who will be aiming to give another solid account of themselves and push for a place in the knockout stages again.

Banker / Wildcard / Young Gun / England Pick
Banker: Emily Arlott (BWL)
Arlott took eight wickets in four matches last season but will be available more frequently this time around. While registered as a bowler, what makes her more attractive is her contribution with the bat; she has a top score of 90 this year and had a top score of 29 not out in her three innings last summer.
Wildcard: Charis Pavely (ALR)
Valued at £6.9m and having a fantastic season so far, Pavely is the second-highest run-scorer in the One Day Cup with 400 runs. In her six innings, she’s scored two centuries and two half-centuries, with a best of 128 not out. She can also chip in with the ball and already has six wickets in the One Day Cup. Last season, she took five wickets and scored 204 runs at an average of 29.14.
Young Gun: Amu Surenkumar (ALR)
The 19-year-old is valued at £6.1m and featured 10 times last season. She has been opening the batting in 2026 and has 146 runs at an average of 24.33, including two half-centuries. She also contributes with the ball, taking four wickets this season, so she should have plenty of match involvement to collect points.
England Watch: Davina Perrin (BAT)
The 19-year-old opener was fantastic last summer and has kicked on again at the start of 2026. She is yet to make her England debut, but she continues to knock on the door, and that first cap likely isn't far away. She scored 385 runs last season while striking at 140.51 and is averaging 45.00 from the top of the order in this year’s One Day Cup.
